The Key Learning Area ‘ENGLISH' includes Talking and Listening, Reading
and Writing.
At Seaforth Public School we believe that all children have the right to
reach their full potential. In order to achieve this, we offer

- Individually matched texts to allow all children to work at their level
- Weekly library lessons and borrowing
- Home Reading program
- Parent helpers assist during literacy block in Junior School

Program
- Positive reinforcement and encouragement – bookmarks awarded to children
- Participation in University of New South Wales competitions (English
and Writing)
- Individual assessment and tracking of each child's reading level from
Kindergarten to Year 6
- Extension classes
- Intensive Literacy Class - for children who have been identified as
experiencing difficulties
- Reading Recovery - focusing on children in Year 1 with difficulties
in Literacy
