The HSIE program topic this terms is 'Places We Know' and the children will be taking part in a number of exciting experiences. We have planned a trip to the city to visit Centre Point Tower to view the cityscape and experience 'The Great Australian Expedition Ride'. This program highlights Australiana and has links with the senses. We will be having a lunch and play break at Hyde Park before returning to Seaforth Public School.
During Book Week Kindergarten children will be visiting the Balgowlah-Seaforth LIbrary. They will learn about the "schoolhouse made of stone" that Seaforth school students sing about in their school song. To conclude our unit of work Kindergarten children will be having a multi-cultural dress-up day and celebration lunch on Thursday 25th September.
On 4th September we have a special activity planned to acknowledge Father's Day . We enourage all fathers or grandfathers to come to school to spend a very special morning creating a 3D box sculpture with their child.
As well as working through the formal program, a highlight this term for the children will be our Teddy Bear's Picnic and Sports Day . The children are developing their fitness and social skills by learning novelty games and activities in preparation for the big day.
It will be a busy and enjoyable Term 3.
In the Junior School we undertake a number of fun activities including gym, sport and choir. Each class participates in library on a weekly basis and computer lab sessions on a fortnightly basis. The Junior School children benefit from the school's science program which is taught by our specialist science teacher Mr Gary Tilley.
