Seaforth School has been committed to a band program for 25 years and was the first school band in the general area.
There are many reasons children benefit from playing a musical instrument and being a member of the band. Most importantly it is fun! It helps promote self-discipline, teamwork, listening skills and provides a sense of community in which every member plays an integral and equal part.
We have an entry level training band of approximately 25 students that attend 2 rehearsals a week and their own tutor session.
We have a performing concert band of 35-40 students that participate in the Warringah Festival, Yamaha Band Festival and Education Week at Warringah Mall .
There is also an opportunity for the students to join a senior ensemble that performs as part of the Manly Arts Festival on Manly Ferries each year. The ensemble also performs at special small concerts in the area.
We are very unique that we have our own instruments that are available for hire at very reasonable rates.
A major feature of the year is our band camp at Collaroy where we spend two days away from school with our band directors and tutors. This program promotes excellence and provides for small group tuition.
Seaforth School Band is a fun experience for the children and helps with their self confidence.
