NAPLAN RESULTS
We are most excited to have received a report of the school's NAPLAN Results. The NAPLAN is a NATION wide test of all Year 3 and Year 5 students. It ranks students across the nation. Our results indicate the high level of achievement of our students. This level of achievement has been achieved by:
*Dedication and skill of teaching staff;
*Systematic specific instruction in literacy and maths
*Schools graded maths program;
*Special support class for literacy;
*Reading recovery
*Extension class program.
*Financial support from the school parent community to fund special programs.

STUDENT RESULTS IN NAPLAN
YEAR 3
Literacy
In 2008 49 Year 3 students sat for the test in literacy. The overall results were excellent with our school having 73 % of students placed in the top two bands in LITERACY This is 21% above the NATIONAL average. No students were placed in the bottom band. The students performed equally well in reading and language.
Writing
In the Primary Writing Assessment 70% of Year 3 children were placed in the top two bands. This is 16% above the NATIONAL average.
Maths
In 2008 49 Year 3 students sat for the NAPLAN test in numeracy. 67% of students were placed in the top two bands. This is 27% above the state average.
No students were placed in the lowest two bands.
The students performed equally well in all areas of mathematics (number, measurement, space).
YEAR 5
Literacy
36 Year 5 students sat for the test in literacy with the overall results again being outstanding. 64% of students were placed in the top two bands. This is 32% above the state average.

Writing
In the Primary Writing Assessment 58% of students were placed in the top two bands. This is 28% above the state average. No students were placed in the lowest two bands and all students met the National Bench mark.

Numeracy
36% of our year 5 students were placed in the top two bands in numeracy. This is 10% above the state average. Only one student was placed in the lowest two bands.
The average improvement of individual students' Numeracy results was 8.6 from2004-2006.
